Dynamic global illumination

  • I must confess that I have bought this game to see the effect of dynamic global illumination. :)
  • So, I have tried to found the effect of the dynamic global illumination technique ("Deferred radiance transfer volumes") in this game.
  • But I couldn't find a good scene yet. I guess, my graphics search skill is poor. :(
  • If I find some good scenes, I will paste to this blog !
  • By the way, the images below are captured from the tech video.






Local reflection

  • In interior scene, local reflection is applied only to the floor.



  • No wonder that if the objects goes outside the screen, the reflection of the objects disappears.


  • I guess that the rendering resolution of local reflection is low, so the reflection effect is weaked to soften the artifacts.

Cubemap reflection at pond

  • In the pond of the islands, traditonal cubemap reflection is used.
  • So, the reflection result and the surrounding scene mismatches.
